ACWUA 5th Best Practice Conference: “Utilities Perspective on Water Resources Management in the Arab Region”
Water resources in the Arab region are considered as a development issue. As a result Arab countries have responded to scarcity by heavily investing in water related infrastructure. Many have heavily invested in water storage infrastructure and in expanding their irrigation systems and the region leads the world in using non-traditional water resources through the use of desalinated water and the reuse of treated wastewater is increasingly gaining importance in many countries of the region.
The conference will provide case studies and best practices in water utilities in the Arab region whilst also aiming to share and exchange the local experiences with the international water community by targeting and focusing on developing best practices and guiding principles on water resources management. The objective is to provide an opportunity to enhance communication flows, synergies and the sharing of successful experiences, but also to facilitate the creation of new partnerships that complement and maximize the impact of on-going work in this sector for the benefit of all countries in the region.
ACWUA Leaders Bi-Lateral Meeting Programme in Association with WEX
As an exciting new addition to ACWUA’s series of Best Practice Conferences we have been asked to organise an intensive programme of one to one meetings for high level ACWUA members. This special event is designed to enhance the role of the association as an exchange platform for water and waste water utilities in the Arab region. It will enable key decision makers to meet not only with each other but also with the invited members of the global water community that will make up the WEX international trade delegation. In order to ensure that all invitees are able to enjoy a full programme of high priority meetings, places on the delegation are limited to a maximum of thirty international companies only.
In the week before the conference begins every invited attendee to the “Leaders” event will be sent a personalised link enabling them to access the bi-lateral meetings database. There you will find information about each of your fellow delegates and their organisations. You will be asked to submit your requests for meetings in order of priority and our software will then compile your bespoke meetings agenda based upon your requests and those of your fellow delegates. Your schedule will be sent to you before you depart for Oman which means that you will have plenty of
time to prepare for a successful series of meetings.
